We’ve gathered a bunch of helpful items here that we think will answer lots of your burning questions about the Freequel Bundle (Sinc Vereor, Virt Vereor, and Ruina). Take a look! Don’t see your question answered? Get in touch.
Currently Basimilus Iteritas, Cursus Vereor, and Desmodus are available in AAX only but we’re workinonit.
Q: What operating systems/processors are supported?
A: We have tested our plugins on Intel and AMD processors running any Windows version currently supported by Microsoft (currently, this is Win10) and OSX 10.14 - 11.1. They may work on earlier systems, but this is where we are testing.
Q: Are Noise Engineering plugins compatible with M1 processors?
A: We are testing here and it's looking good but we still have a few graphics issues to work out. #workinonit
Q: What are the system requirements to run Noise Engineering plugins?
A: If you can run a DAW, you can most likely run our plugins.
Q: What DAWs are supported?
A: Our plugins are most likely compatible with any major DAW, but we have tested them in Pro Tools, Logic, Bitwig Studio, Ableton Live, Reaper, and Cubase.
NI Komplete Kontrol is not yet supported. We have that on the roadmap but do not have a timeline.
Q: Do I need internet to run the plugins?
A: Once the plugins are installed, they do not require an internet connection to operate. If your computer cannot connect to the internet, offline installation and authentication is available (but requires access to another computer with an stable internet connection). Many VPNs will not allow access.
Q: Where do the plugins and presets save in (DAW)?
A: We install and save to the directories specified by the formats. The format standards specify where to put files, and in turn, where DAWs should look for said files. Learn more here. You should not need to move them, but if you do, note that the installer will not be able to update them in a new location. Note that AAX and AU files may not be moved.

By default, presets are saved to the file paths below. You can save your own presets to this path, or to anywhere else on your computer.
Mac: /Users/[name]/Library/Audio/Presets/Noise Engineering/[Product Name]
PC: C:/Users/Public/Documents/Noise Engineering/[Product Name]
Q: How do I find the version number of my plugin? How do I know if it is up to date?
A: Open your plugin and go to the Config page. The version number will be at the bottom. If the plugin is out of date, it will tell you there. If you need to update, just run the plugin installer again!
In the installer, it is in tiny numbers at the bottom of the Help page.
Q: What the heck is with these weird preset names?
A: In brief, we used automation to name them. Part of our ethos here is to never tell people how to use things, so we opted to not name presets by how they sounded so you, our user, don’t feel obligated to use brass only as brass, etc. Read more about where we got the names in the manuals.
Q: How do I uninstall plugins/presets?
A: Open the installer for NE Products (available at the NE Customer Portal), click online install, and you will be given the option to uninstall your plugins (and leave your presets), or uninstall plugins AND presets. Choose wisely.
Q: What is that upload button on the installer and in the plugins, and what does it do?
A: If you need support, we may ask you to press this button in order to gather information about your system. This information is anonymized, 100% secure, and just tells us details like your operating system and hardware details in order to help with customer support.
Q: Can I get these in Reason? When will you release more Reason products?
A: This bundle is not compatible with Rack Extensions, but we love Reason. We have a lot of things planned, and we have things coming soon!
Q: Do you have more plugins planned?
A: Oh yes. Many. Many.
Q: How do the plugins compare to the hardware?
A: Some of our plugins take inspiration from our hardware modules, and some are entirely new concepts unique to the software world. If a plugin has a hardware counterpart, it will generally sound similar, and may also feature an extended number of parameters not possible on our hardware. You can learn about the design inspirations for a particular plugin by reading its respective manuals.
Q: When are you bringing these plugins to VCV Rack/Softube Modular?
A: We never rule anything out but VCV and Softube Modular aren’t currently on the development roadmap. We haven’t tested but we’re told that they do work in Voltage Modular.
